Joanne Behan (Born 1971) is a sculptor from County Monaghan. She graduated with a B.A. in Fine Art from Crawford College of Art, Cork, specialising in sculpture in 1997. After college Joanne spent a number of years living abroad. She returned to Ireland in 2002 and worked as a Gallery Curator and Public Art Manager for Monaghan County Council from 2004 -2009. From 2011 Joanne has been involved in setting up and running Clones Art Studio in the Old Post Office building in Clones, County Monaghan and has her studio space there.
Her work is in private and public collections. Joanne’s work is predominantly figurative. She loves the plasticity of working in clay and wax creating figures that are caught in a moment and then cast in bronze. Joanne exhibits her smaller scale sculptures but more recently her work is commissioned based.
