CORMAC O’LEARY

Cormac O'Leary was born in Cork city, Ireland in 1969. He studied fine art at Sligo IT (now ATU) from 1987 -1991. He has held over 30 solo exhibitions including The Doorway Gallery, Dublin (2017 / 19), Barbara Stanley Gallery, London (2007 / 08 / 15 / 16) Chimera Gallery, Mullingar (2013 / 17) Quayside Gallery, Westport Mayo (2012). Cormac O'Leary' s work explores landscape, interiors, still life and figurative imagery with a sense of lyrical simplicity and minimal composition. His process is informed by the textural nature of oil paint and its rich qualities of depth and opacity as well as the limitless range of tonality and colour. Emotional memory and visual experiences inform his painting themes.
