Gary Robinson is a visual artist who lives and works in Longford, Ireland. Primarily a painter, incorporating collage, handwriting, typewriting and overheard conversations in his work, he has extended his practice in the last four to five years to include three dimensional work and installations. He uses his local environment, urban and rural, to inform the content of his work often making it metaphorically and literally the actual ‘raw material’ of his art. He attended NCAD in the late 1980's. Since then he has worked as a graphic designer and practiced as a visual artist. He has had several solo exhibitions and has taken part in many group exhibitions in and outside Ireland. Many of Robinson’s pieces have been purchased for private collections in Ireland, the UK, Spain, Germany and the USA.
