Sinéad Smyth

“My work is based largely on emotional response and is derived from everyday observations of people, landscapes (real and imagined). I aim to capture the essence of my chosen subject, creating the illusion of detail, through energetic mark making, focusing on impressionistic abstraction.

My work was accepted for the Royal Ulster Academy of Art annual exhibition.  I’ve been an invited artist to several national and international exhibitions, including the Boyle Festival and Hambly & Hambly in Fermanagh.  I’m currently showing my work in group exhibitions with international artists in Cyprus and Mumbai, Paris and The Academy of Fine Art in Athens. I have worked with many arts organisations and public bodies, including the Turner Prize 2013, Thames Festival London, The British Council, City of Culture 2013 and Churches Trust.”

A selection of Sinéad’s work is currently available exclusively through Hambly & Hambly. Please contact us for a catalogue.
