Clare O’Connor
Clare O’Connor is an award winning Multidisciplinary Artist and Designer with a BA in Visual Arts Practice & a BDES in Design Communications from IADT, Dublin graduating in 2001 and 2009. Originally a graphic designer and after working in the design for print arena for many years, she decided to follow a more creative route and return to college to study Fine Art in 2006 specialising in painting, printmaking & photography. After graduating she lived and worked in Berlin and Venice working as an artist assistant to Thomas Kilpper & Anselm Reyle & various artists in the Venice Biennale. During this time, she developed my art studio practice & began developing herbrand of wearable art. She has exhibited in Ireland, Germany, Italy, USA and the UK. In 2016 she was chosen to be part of the ‘Imago Mundi' Irish Collection representing Ireland as part of the Luciano Benetton collection. In 2018 she was selected to be part of the Dublin Canvas project. She is a member of the Design & Craft Council of Ireland (DCCOI) & Visual Artists Ireland (VAI). Clare works in different mediums with a passion for abstract painting.
She has received Professional Artist Development Awards from the Arts Council & Meath Arts Office & in 2021 and three of her paintings were purchased by Meath County Council for inclusion in the Meath Arts Collection. Clare is one of the recipients of the 2024 John Richardson French Residency Award.
