"Just being.. "Living"... in such a place as West Cork, is always the starting point. How complicated, how multi layered, just being alive in such a townland, where the whole world flows through. Over time the paintings themselves have unearthed a form of abstraction (that has nothing doctrinaire about it). I would have the painting sing their songs with the same robustness as this place. What happens inside the passion of making is what matters... complicated... chaotic and exhalted."
